Mayor's Charity Auction Raises £1500 for Lifeboat
Hornsea Mayor John Miller presided over the Charity Auction at Hornsea's Floral Hall on Saturday August 22nd providing over 4 hours of excellent entertainment and the auction itself raised £1500 for the Hornsea Inshore Rescue boathouse appeal.
What a great feeling it was as we counted up and got to £1000 and still there was more
On a wonderful but manic day it seemed impossible that all the generously supplied items would feature in the auction, but after over 4 hours they did and Mayor Miller and his team were left exhausted but very happy that it had went so well.
We will let them have the final say:
we would like to thank everyone who gave items to auction without whom it wouldn't have been possible and thank you to all the people who turned up on the night and supported us by spending their money. Also a big thank you to our family and friends who came to support and help us, again without them we couldn't have done this Auction at all they were wonderful" The cheque was presented to Hornsea Inshore Rescue at their Open Day on Bank Holiday Monday.
