Two men have been badly burned after their brand new boat caught fire on Southampton Water.

They had just picked up the 38ft motorcruiser from a dealer in Hamble when it burst into flames off Calshot Spit at around 1.20pm on Monday.

The pair didn't have time to make a distress call but managed to scramble into a life raft.

The boat later sank.

The men were rescued by the Calshot Lifeboat.
