Severn rescue boat takes safety lesson to schools
A RESCUE association based in Chepstow has created information packs for schools about the hazards of inland and coastal waterways.
The packs will be provided by Severn Area Rescue Association (SARA) at their awareness and fundraising day on Friday, February 26.
This is part of the national 'Go Orange - for independent lifeboats' day arranged to raise awareness of independent lifeboat stations around the UK and to raise funds.
Schools, colleges, scouts and guides groups, workplaces, and members of the public, are invited to take part in SARA's Go-Orange day by running their own dress down day, dress up in orange or organise an orange cake competition or any orange themed event.
In return for these activities, SARA will provide a water awareness information pack and even a personal talk by a crew member to schools or workplaces.
