Folkestone Inshore Rescue launch new boat
Folkestone Inshore Rescue needed a new rescue boat, but being a tiny charity with very limited funds, there was no way they could afford one. The answer to the problem was actually quite simple though - they decided to build their own.
They acquired a set of plans for a hull and with the help of a very skilled carpenter and under the watchfull eye of a Lloyds Surveyor they started construction, beefing up the design here and there to increase the strength by 20% to ensure it would be up to the job of a rescue craft.
Three months later Folkestone Inshore Rescue are launching their new 7m rib this Saturday 22nd May, 5pm at Folkestone Harbour.
